100WEEKS tackles extreme poverty in the most effective way possible: by giving women money directly. We believe that women living in poverty know best what they need to improve their lives. What they lack are the means. That is why participants in the 100WEEKS programme receive a weekly contribution of £8 for 100 weeks. In addition to this financial support, the women attend training courses in small groups, where they learn how to set up a successful small business. This not only helps them build a better life during the programme, but also keeps them out of poverty afterwards. And it works: no less than 84% of the women are out of poverty after completing the programme. Together, we are making a structural difference – from survival to entrepreneurship, in 100 weeks.
